Dickerson PTSA has been given the distinguished award of  The Model PTA
 
 

             Awards were presented at PTA Convention and Leadership Training, July 10-11, 2009:

The Model PTA- Dickerson MS PTSA ECCC 9

 The Purposes of The Model PTA:

Encourages and directs the Local Unit PTA to fulfill the requirements to be “In Good Standing”.

Provides a strong format and defines an effective process for parent engagement, advocacy and

partnership in the school community.

Assists the local school community to fulfill the parents’ rights and responsibilities portion of the NoChild Left Behind Act, Section 1118.

 

Dear Parents, Staff, and Students of Dickerson Middle School,
 
We want to share the specific promises that we, the 2009-2010 Executive Board of the Dickerson PTSA, would like to make to everyone we serve at Dickerson this coming year:
 

v We promise to always do our very best.

v We promise to continue to make Dickerson a pleasant, encouraging, welcoming place for everyone who enters. This includes our students, teachers, staff, parents and community. We want people to enjoy coming to Dickerson.

v We promise to be good stewards of the money entrusted to us and always use it for the betterment of our students, families, teachers and community.

 
We are honored to be able to serve on this Board as a part of this outstanding school. Thank you for putting your trust in us.

New Co-President for DMS, Arzu Ozyazgan arzugocmen@yahoo.com.

We are very excited to have her on board. Parents please welcome her when you see her working in the office or around the school. She is delightful and will be a fantastic addition to DMS. She will always keep our theme "We Promise". Arzu has triplets in the 6th grade and has handled Octoberfest for Sope Creek Elementary for 5 years.
